HEIDI & ANTHONY | PALE AND INTERESTING WEDDING

Heidi and Anthony’s wedding was held at one of my favourite UK venues: Pale and Interesting, The Venue. A beautiful, white weather-boarded New-England style barn in the Sussex countryside owned by a stylist and designer couple, it is also used for location shoots for gorgeous brands (I’m pretty sure I spied it in the mini-Boden and White Company catalogues…!), so you can just imagine the beauty. There’s also a vintage airstream trailer, fields of long golden grass, tons of creative details, and stunning natural light. So I was more than delighted to be asked to shoot another wedding there!

Heidi and Anthony are a super-stylish and elegant couple – when a bride hires a ball gown just for her engagement shoot, you know the wedding is going to be pretty special! And the wedding dress… THE DRESS!!! Just utterly exquisite – layers of fluffy tulle in shades of blush, champagne and ivory, with exquisite beading all over the bodice. Definitley one of my favourite dresses ever, and Heidi looked breathtaking. The wedding inspiration was ‘vintage glamour’ with a colour scheme of white, gold and blush, with gold-glitter-dipped feathers, a nod to the glamorous 1920s, gorgeous stationery and a beautiful bird theme running through the styling.

The ceremony was filled with emotion, and had everyone dancing in the aisles with a surprise performance from amazing gospel choir ‘Get Gospel’ (an extra lovely surprise for me as my old singing teacher heads up the group!). Champagne was served in the garden before heading to the tipis – which the couple had won at a wedding fair – for more drinks, music, dinner and speeches, after which the favours were handed out – home-made shots with matching mini-dinasour figurines in luminous shades. Of course, we nipped out for some golden hour portraits in the long grass before the first dance and glittering evening party, complete with mini-fish and chips and an epic marshmallow tower. It really was the most fantastic day, brimming with opulence and beauty, and an absolute honour to photograph!
