Bormes Les Mimosas is one of my favourite French villages… as a child I remember wandering the tiny cobbled streets and climbing up and up windy steps, past bougainvillea-covered houses and secret courtyards filled with flowers, to finally reach le chateau at the top and the view of the sea… There’s a photo on my parents’ mantlepiece of me, age 3, sitting on a wall in Bormes in a yellow dress and straw hat. I tried to recreate the image with Sophie, age 4, but there’s now a large flowerpot on the wall 😉 We didn’t make it to the chateau this time, but the hot pink bougainvillea was abundant. It must be one of the prettiest places in the world. Just after we returned from France I had a last-minute wedding enquiry for none other than Bormes, the following weekend… but sadly I was already booked. One day though I hope 🙂 Of course, we also spent some time on the beach at Saint Clair, which Sophie adored. Here are a few images I captured on film.
Oh Katy! I’m just utterly in love with this post <3…Major Swoon!
Thank you! xx
