A few more images from the Feather & Stone Fine Art Film Photography workshop at ‘Hameau Des Baux in Provence last year. (Slowly catching up on the blogging!). I adored Dani’s 60s/70s-style dress and amazing floral crown, set off perfectly by her gorgeous flowing red hair. And François, every bit the suave and stylish Frenchman in red trousers and braces. What a cool couple! The sun was just going down behind the olive groves, casting some beautiful golden light through the trees – my favourite time of day to shoot. This was an important moment in my journey with film, as it was actually the first time I was brave enough to shoot just film – I left the digital camera in my room – and I loved how liberating it felt. Framing the image, waiting for the moment, the click of the shutter… but without constantly looking at the back of the camera… it felt so much more creative and intuitive, and just flowed more naturally. And then to get these scans back was mindblowing! The journey continues, with most of last year’s wedding’s being shot on both film and digital, with some gorgeous results. This summer I plan to continue as a ‘hybrid shooter’, but with the proportion of film increasing. And summer 2016? Maybe it will be all film 🙂
